The defending Big 12 champion K-State Wildcats were picked by the league’s men’s basketball coaches to finish in a tie for 5th with Oklahoma in the annual preseason released on Thursday morning. The Cats were also selected fifth a year ago when they went on to win their first conference title in 36 years.
Kansas and Oklahoma State were picked as preseason co-league champs, each receiving five first place votes, and 77 points overall. Baylor was picked third, and Iowa State was voted fourth. West Virginia, Texas, Texas Tech, and TCU round out the final four spots in the poll.
