K-State’s iSIS system has been renamed to KSIS, K-State Student Information System. Chief Information Officer Ken Stafford says while iSIS was named many years ago, the change is being made because of concerns expressed over the current name and its link to a terrorist network. Stafford indicates university officials have checked with peers and many other universities using the term iSIS also are changing the name.
The K-State Student Information System, KSIS, is now the official name of our student system. There are many tasks involved in renaming, including all of the reports, Web pages, forms and marketing materials, which will take considerable time and effort. Stafford says they appreciate patience as these changes occur.
