The Pottawatomie county Board of County Commissioners met on Monday morning in Westmoreland. The county is recovering after a long week of heavy rainfall and flooding that took its’ toll on gravel roads and bridges. County Commissioner Pat Weixelman said that local EMS reported a construction trailer ended up being swept away by Rock Creek and traveled nearly five miles before being recovered. The railroad in St. Mary experienced significant damage after the rain washed gravel away from the tracks.
Clean up efforts continue across the county this week, but Weixelman said that would not hinder progress on the patching of Belvue Bridge.
