For the first time in program history, Frankfort girls’ basketball won the 1A-D1 state championship by defeating Little River 47-41. Leading the Wildcats to the title was senior forward Sydney Wapp.
Ending Litter River’s perfect season, Wapp scored 15 points, was 5-6 from the floor and 5-5 from the free throw line. In the three state tournament games, Wapp totaled 31 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. She is also a three-sports athlete at Frankfort. Competing in basketball, volleyball and track.
Outside of athletics, Wapp is a member of FCCLA, NHS and 4H. She also excels in the classroom with a 3.75 GPA and plans to major in elementary education when she gets to college.
