UPDATED 5:30 a.m. Wednesday-Details have been released regarding a Tuesday evening accident at U-S 24 and K-113, or Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Seth Child, KMAN first told you about just minutes after it occurred.
The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates Joshua Smothers, 19 of Manhattan was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan following the accident, reported shortly after 7 p.m. Smothers was driving a 2004 Chevrolet northbound and had stopped at the stop sign on Seth Child. However, Smothers reportedly then pulled out in front of a 2015 Peterbilt semi driven by Dustin Scholle, 35, of Colorado, striking the drivers side of the semi. Scholle was not injured
Both were wearing seatbelts and Smothers’ airbag deployed.
Traffic was blocked for several hours, with all lanes re-opening at about 11:45 p.m.

UPDATED 11:55 p.m.-All lanes of traffic are open at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Seth Child Road after the traffic accident earlier Tuesday evening.

An accident was reported at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Seth Child shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Injuries were involved with an ambulance crew actively loading a person on a stretcher. The accident involved a car transporter truck and guardrail.
An IRIS alert was released regarding the accident, advising traffic was being redirected and for motorists to avoid the area.
