A woman sought by Junction City Police for more than two months has been located.
On May 7th, the Junction City Police Department in cooperation with the US Marshal’s Service put out a news release to local media outlets requesting assistance from the public in locating Federal Fugitive Heidi Lynn Webster.
The JCPD was notified by the US Marshals Service Thursday that Webster was arrested in Urbana, Illinois by members of the Marshal’s Service. No Further Information has been released.
A reminder that Webster was one of two former officials of a San Antonio military medical center who pleaded guilty in January of 2014 to their roles in a fraudulent scheme involving more than $7 million in military contracts. Federal prosecutors say retired Army Master Sgt. Lawrence Peter Fenti of Texas and Dr. Heidi Webster of Manhattan each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and one count of bribery.
Fenti was the chief administrator for Brooke Army Medical Center’s radiology department and Webster worked at the center. Prosecutors say they steered contracts to two Kansas companies run by Webster that she registered as defense contractors. Prosecutors seized about $500,000 in the investigation and are seeking restitution of $400,000 from Fenti and about $600,000 from Webster.
