Eric Reid, who currently serves as the Superintendent of Ellsworth/Kanopolis/Genesco USD 327 in Ellsworth, was officially announced as the new Assistant Superintendent for Manhattan/Ogden USD 383 after the school board approved the item unanimously during Wednesday night’s board meeting.
Reid earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Kansas State University and his master’s degree in educational administration from Fort Hays State University. He began his career as a social studies teacher in Cocker, Missouri and Fowler, Kansas. After this, he returned to his hometown of Ellsworth, where he has been serving in his current position since 2011.
A press release issued Wednesday evening included quotes from Reid. “I look forward to serving the district in this capacity, and I will embrace the opportunities to learn from some tremendous people.”
Reid will begin his new position on July 1st, as he will replace Associate Superintendent, Robert Seymour. As KMAN has previously reported, Seymour will retire.
