Manhattan High girls bowling finished 4th at the state tournament over the weekend. Their highest individual finisher was Alex Newell. She won 8 meets throughout the season and finished 1st in high average for girls statewide. Newell is an all-state selection who will bowl on scholarship next year at Cowley County Community College. Kansas State’s Christianna Carr garnered her second career Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor in an announcement from the league office on Monday. The Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor for Carr was the 28th time a K-State player earned the league’s freshman honor and the seventh time under Mittie.
