Despite scoring just two runs and managing only five hits, the Kansas State Baseball team continued their roll on Saturday by squeaking out a 2-1 victory over Texas Christian in Big 12 action before 2,957 at Tointon Family Stadium.
After falling behind 1-0, K-State scored the only runs they would need in each of the first two innings. Shane Conlon’s RBI double in the first inning scored Ross Kivett and Clayton Dalrymple plated a run on an infield hit in the second frame. From there, the Wildcat pitching staff shut down TCU as three relievers backed up Matt Wivinis in his sixth win of the season. K-State pitchers combined for nine strikeouts on the afternoon as the Bat Cats picked up yet another conference series win.
Kansas State (31-13, 9-5) will go for the sweep on Sunday in an early start to the series finale. First pitch at Tointon Family Stadium is set for 11 a.m.
