Brady Burton, superintendent of USD 384, says for the past 8 years Blue Valley High School students have been given a personal laptop for them to use during the school year. Next school year his district will be adopting a pilot program where 9th graders at Blue Valley High School will be given an iPad instead.
“A lot of this is based on budget and on how technology has changed and where it is going,” Burton said.
iPads cost less than laptops. Burton says that if the iPad program is successful, it will be extended to other grades.
