A teleconference on Friday was able to provide a few answers as the legislative session is in full swing.
Governor Sam Brownback took the lead and talked about some of the issues he has been working on including meetings with the Kansas Water Authority and taking the lesser prairie chicken off of the threatened list.
Questions from those in attendance were directed to the Governor and one by KMAN’s Cathy Dawes concerned the Supreme Court ruling on the school finance issue.
At this point, still no decision has been reached.
Brownback, however, did talk about all-day kindergarten and how he is looking to fund this opportunity for all kids. He also mentioned increase in funding for K-12.
To conclude, Brownback said he is hoping to make these teleconferences a regular event to keep people apprised of what is happening in the legislative session.
