Cardiac Screening Day @ KSU Alumni Center

The Anthony Bates Foundation is coming back to Kansas in a big way!  On Sunday, September 29th we will be hosting our 13thannual Cardiac Screening Day at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, KS.  Attached is our flyer and below, a link to our PSA video with Coach Bill Snyder promoting our program.  Please help us spread the word by watching our video, adding it to your website (if you have one) and sharing the flyer with your friends, too!

The screening is open to youth 12 & up & their families.  Even adults are eligible to have a heart test.  The program is FREE but we do ask for a nominal $20 suggested donation to keep the program going and support our efforts year round.  Your help in sharing the word with your friends, family & co-workers would be greatly appreciated.
Appointments are highly recommended.  We anticipate a full house and would like to accommodate everyone as quickly and smoothly as possible.  Below is the link to set up appointments:

Keep The Drive Alive Blood Drive @ St Thomas More Church

The American Red Cross will hold the fifth annual Keep the Drive Alive blood drive Nov. 20-21 in memory of Kevin Coffey, a 2009 Manhattan High School graduate and committed blood donor.

The blood drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, and from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Thomas More church, 2900 Kimball Ave. Appointments are not required but are recommended; walk-in donors are welcome. Wamego High School – “Pippin” @ Wamego High School Auditorium

The Wamego High School Drama Department will present “Pippin” one of the musicals now appearing on Broadway.  There will be outstanding singing, music with great local musicians awesome choreography, and colorful costuming.  They will present two shows with the first being Friday, November 21st at 7:30 pm.  There will be a Saturday afternoon matinee on November 22nd at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $4.00 at the door.  There is free parking behind the school  They will host “Pippin Players” their children’s event for children in grades K-5th, on Saturday before the matinee from 12:45 – 1:45 pm.  This event costs $10 per child and includes a keepsake and a ticket for the main show.  For more information, please contact Jennifer Topliff at topliff@usd320.com or call 785-456-2214.

Screening of “The Journey” @ Pawnee Mental Health Services

November 22 is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, a day when suicide loss survivors gather to find strength in the knowledge that they are not alone.

Pawnee Mental Health Services will host a screening of The Journey, a new documentary that tells the stories of a diverse group of suicide loss survivors. After the film, a member of Pawnee’s treatment team will host a post screening discussion and Q & A session.

The screenings will be held on Saturday November 22 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at the Pawnee offices located at:

Public Input Meeting @ Riley Centre
