Cardiac Screening Day @ KSU Alumni Center

The Anthony Bates Foundation is coming back to Kansas in a big way!  On Sunday, September 29th we will be hosting our 13thannual Cardiac Screening Day at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, KS.  Attached is our flyer and below, a link to our PSA video with Coach Bill Snyder promoting our program.  Please help us spread the word by watching our video, adding it to your website (if you have one) and sharing the flyer with your friends, too!

The screening is open to youth 12 & up & their families.  Even adults are eligible to have a heart test.  The program is FREE but we do ask for a nominal $20 suggested donation to keep the program going and support our efforts year round.  Your help in sharing the word with your friends, family & co-workers would be greatly appreciated.
Appointments are highly recommended.  We anticipate a full house and would like to accommodate everyone as quickly and smoothly as possible.  Below is the link to set up appointments:

Crafty Senior Plus Sale @ Manhattan Town Center

The Crafty Senior Plus Sale will be held on October 23rd through October 25th at the Town Center Mall from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm daily.  This will be the last sale before Christmas.  Checkout all the wonderful handmade gifts for your Christmas presents.  You will find a variety of items.

Soup Supper @ Riley County Senior Center
Oct 23 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

The Riley County Senior Center will have a Soup Supper & Silent Auction on Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Senior Center.  Tickets are $6.00 in advance or $7.00 at the door. They will have 14 soups from 12 different restaurants, rolls and dessert. They will have a gift basket auction.  Supper benefits the program and activities of the Senior Center.

Domestic Violence Task Force @ Manhattan Public Library

The Riley County Domestic Violence Task Force will host a discussion of domestic violence in our community on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Groesbeck Room of the Manhattan Public Library.  Following brief presentations by panelists representing the Riley County Police Department, Office of the Riley County Attorney, Sunflower Bridge Child Exchange and Visitation Center, Pawnee Mental Health Services’ Batterer Intervention Program, Fort Riley Family Advocacy Program, and Crisis Center, Inc., task force members will take questions from the audience.  The public is invited to attend.  For additional information, contact Judy Davis at 785-539-7935.

Children’s Halloween Carnival @ Wonder Workshop

The Wonder Workshop is hosting a Children’s Halloween Carnival on October 24th & 25th at 507  S 4th.  There will be trick or treating, games, crafts and treats.  Join them for a safe Halloween  event.   Admission if $3 in advance or $4 at the door.  Members get in free.  Each ticket is good for an additional visit to the Wonder Workshop until December 21st.

The History of Voting Rights In Kansas @ Manhattan Public Library
Oct 30 @ 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Author and independent historian Diane Eickhoff will lead a discussion entitled “Women Rising: How Kansas Women Gained The Vote, 1859-1912.” The discussion is based on research Eickhoff did when writing her book Revolutionary Heart: The Life Of Clarina Nichols and the Pioneering Crusade for Women’s Rights.

The Good Books Club is organized and facilitated by staff at the Manhattan Public Library. The club is free and open to the public.

Bewitching in Westloop @ Westloop Shopping Center
