Pack the kids in the stroller & roll on over! Walk, push a stroller, or pull a wagon over a one-mile course – stopping along the way for three Story Time Stations! This event will be held on Saturday, September 20th from 10:00 – 12:00 pm at the Riley county Family & Child Resource Center, 2101 Claflin. Please feel free to come & go as you please. The seventh annual Touch-A-Truck program sponsored by the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library will be held on Saturday, September 20th, from 10 am to noon at Goody’s Plaza on East Chestnut Street. Here families can get an up-close look at a host of working and recreational vehicles and indulge their fascination with “things that go.” For more information please contact Susan Moyer at 238-4311.
You are invited to attend the Sunday Worship Service at the Manhattan Christian Fellowship Church, 2740 Pillsbury Drive on September 21st at 10:00 am for National Back to Church Sunday 2014. After the service there will be a fellowship together at the Sirloin Stockade from 1:00 to 4:00. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Proceeds will go to the building fund. Ticket prices are $14.00 for 15 years and older; $7.00 for 11 – 12 years; $5.00 for 4 – 10 years and free for 3 years and younger. Tech Tuesday workshop “How to Download eBooks” will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 2:00 pm. This class will walk you through the steps of downloading eBooks from the Sunflower eLibrary onto your mobile devices and computers. Bring your device or computer with you and leave with great new eBooks and audiobooks.
The Flint Hills Metropolitan Planning Organization (FHMPO) and its consultant team will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, September 24th from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at the C.L. Hoover Opera House. As part of the development of the region’s first long-range transportation plan, the Flint Hills Transportation Plan, the FHMPO is seeking public feedback regarding roadway conditions, bicycle and pedestrians facilities, transit service and more. The open house allows citizens to come and go as they please and have informal conversations with FHMPO staff or the consultant team members. There will be a formal presentation at 5:30 pm.

The OZ Museum is hosting Night at the Museum on Friday, September 26th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. This event is going to be an evening where our favorite Oz characters come to life with the help of Oz historian John Fricke. This evening is also going to help bring awareness to the fundraising of the OZ Museum facade.
