Cardiac Screening Day @ KSU Alumni Center

The Anthony Bates Foundation is coming back to Kansas in a big way!  On Sunday, September 29th we will be hosting our 13thannual Cardiac Screening Day at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, KS.  Attached is our flyer and below, a link to our PSA video with Coach Bill Snyder promoting our program.  Please help us spread the word by watching our video, adding it to your website (if you have one) and sharing the flyer with your friends, too!

The screening is open to youth 12 & up & their families.  Even adults are eligible to have a heart test.  The program is FREE but we do ask for a nominal $20 suggested donation to keep the program going and support our efforts year round.  Your help in sharing the word with your friends, family & co-workers would be greatly appreciated.
Appointments are highly recommended.  We anticipate a full house and would like to accommodate everyone as quickly and smoothly as possible.  Below is the link to set up appointments:

Riley County Health Department & USD 383 Central Enrollment Vaccine Clinic @ Manhattan High School- West Campus

The vaccines recommended by the RCHD are recommended by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention). The vaccines may be given at the same time and some vaccines may require follow-up doses. If your child has insurance the RCHD will bill insurance. If your child qualifies for the VFC program (Vaccines for Children), the RCHD participates in the VFC program and there may be a $14 injection fee.

Assisted Deet Hunt

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, Riley County Fish and Game Association, and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake are still accepting applications for the 2014 Tuttle Creek Youth/Disabled Assisted Deer Hunt, September 6th and 7th.  This hunt, which is offered free of charge, is open to resident youth age 11-16 and those with a certified disability interested in hunting Kansas whitetails.  Applications are due July 31st.  For more information, or to obtain an application, contact U. Treasurer’s Office Closing @ Riley County Treasuer's Office

The Riley County Treasurer’s Office will be closing at 3:30 pm on Friday, August 1st, for the Treasurer’s retirement.  they will reopen at 8:3o am on Monday, August 4th.

Healthy Community Sharing @ First United Methodist Church/St. Paul;s Episcopal Church

Healthy Community Sharing will be held at the First United Methodist Church and St. Paul’s  Episcopal Church, North and south sides, 6th and Poyntz Avenues from 10 am to 8 pm.  There will be social services tables, mobile food distribution, clothing closet, community meal, health screenings and school district support.  Children’s activities will be held from 10 am to 2 pm.  There will be an obstacle course, bounce house and crafts.

Negro Spirituals Concert @ First United Methodist Church

A Negro Spirituals Concert and LaVerne Baker’s 80th Birthday Celebration will be held on Friday, August 8th.  Featuring Dr. LaVerne L. Baker, Folksinger and Mrs. Mary Caudle Kidd, Pianist.  The Concert will be from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Sanctuary and the Birthday Celebration will be from 8:00 to 9:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.   Both events will take place at the First United Methodist Church.
