Movie Night in City Park @ City Park

Manhattan Parks and Rec will have Movie Night on Thursday, July 28th at Larry Norvell Band Shell in City Park.  They will be showing the Disney movie The Incredibles beginning at 8:30 pm.

Furniture Amnesty Day @ City Park
Jul 29 @ 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Furniture Amnesty Day will be Friday, July 29th in the Baker Field parking lot of City Park, 11th & Poyntz. To Donate Furniture — To schedule furniture pickup, please fill out the online form at CityofMHK.com/Furniture or call 785-587-2404.  You must live inside Manhattan city limits to take advantage of the collection routes.  Deadline to sign up for this service is 5:00 pm Wednesday, July 27th.  You can also drop off your donations from 7 am to 5 pm in the Baker Field parking lot on the day of the event.  Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading.  Selecting Furniture — Public sign-in begins at 8:00 am on the day of the event.  Time slots from noon to 5 pm will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.  Any furniture left after 5 pm is open to the general public.  There is no cost.

Parks and Rec Day in the Park @ City Park

Take the whole family out for a night of fun at City Park and celebrate the last day of Parks and Recreation Month on Sunday, July 31st from 6:00 to 9:30 pm.  Hot dogs, games and activities in the shelter and sand court 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Free swim and dance on the pool deck from 8:00 to 9:30 pm.

Everybody Counts @ Douglass Community Center

Everybody Counts – that means YOU! will be held on Saturday, August 6th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Douglass Community Center/Douglass Center Annex 900 block of Yuma Street.  There will be more than 30 booths sponsored by community organizations offering services, educational information & volunteer opportunities.  Distribution of children’s clothing from USD 383 FIT Closet (school supplies will NOT be distributed). Fun activities for children & families.  Access to computers to complete USD 383 online enrollment.  Free health screenings, Flint Hills Breadbasket bread distribution (while supplies last). Water Matters Day @ Sunset Zoo

Konza Rotary Club of Manhattan will host the Sixth Annual Water Matters Day, from noon to 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 6th at the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan.  Water Matters Day raises awareness of the challenges many folks face in obtaining clean water every day, plus raises money to help provide access to drinking water locally, nationally and internationally.

Olympic Fun Camp @ Westview Community Church
