A Utility Roundtable to explain the Westar rate case and what it means for you is scheduled at the Riley County Senior Center on Thursday, July 16th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and Manhattan Public Library from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Experts will share how energy efficiency and solar power are impacted by Westar’s proposal.
Homegrown Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 18th at the Farmers Market. They will have local tomatoes, corn, baked goods, peppers, onions, cut flowers, plants, jams and meats plus a lot more. ESB Financial will host a Kids Watermelon Contest. Registration will be at 9:00 am. They will have MAC Kid Crafts, and a Watermelon Eating contest at 10:00. Kinds 5 and under – Watermelon Rolling; 6-9 Year Old – Watermelon Eating and 10-13 Year Old – Watermelon Seed Spitting. There will be lots of prizes and fun!

The Senior Center is offering a Tour of KSU Women’s Rowing Center on Wednesday, July 22nd at 1:15 pm. Assistant Coach Hanna Wiltfong will be the guide.
