The Kansas City Chiefs with the 18th selection overall picked Washington cornerback Marcus Peters in the first round of the National Football League draft held Thursday night in Chicago.
The Chiefs made the pick that some might see as a risk since Peters was actually dismissed from the Huskies during the 2014 season after run-ins with the coaching staff.
Jameis Winston was selected #1 overall out of Florida State by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota from Oregon was taken at #2 by the Tennessee Titans.
