The Sunset Zoo held their “Water Safari and Kids Free Day” on Saturday. Ella Casey, Marketing and Development Officer at Sunset Zoo, says the event had a great turnout.
“It’s an annual special event we do every August to celebrate the last few weeks of summer and get out and splash around at the zoo,” Casey said.
Casey observed kids enjoyed the day’s main attraction.
“I think the biggest highlight of this event is Manhattan Fire Department has always partnered with us. They bring out one of their fire trucks and park it in the center of the zoo and just hose kids down all afternoon,” Casey said.
Lieutenant Bruce Cubie estimated the Manhattan Fire Department gave away a couple hundred stickers to children at the event.
