A 35-year-old inmate serving time on a murder conviction and other charges in Riley County has apparently been passed over for parole. Shakeer Davis’ earliest possible release date is March of 2017.
Davis was convicted in late 1997 of murder in the first degree, attempted murder, aggrabvated robbery, and aggravated burglary in a February shooting in Manhattan resulting in the death of Wanda Norman and wounding of John Garner. Davis was 17 at the time of the offenses.
Public comment sessions were held in January.
Davis is being held in Hutchinson.
