Kansas State’s last home football game is quickly approaching, and that means the likelihood of littering. Manhattan Good Neighbors, a partnership of the city of Manhattan and Kansas State, is organizing its final “kickoff clean up” Sunday afternoon from one to three.
Volunteers are asked to sign up in advance by going to handson.ksu.edu or by emailing mgn@ksu.edu. Student coordinator Nicole Allen says many of the volunteers are K-State students. Other volunteers are community members such as girl and boy scout troops. Any age group is invited.
Allen says efforts grew to 70 volunteers the last time. Sunday’s efforts will feature assisting the elderly with yard clean-up.
