Authorities indicate the call came in at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday, with Wamego, St. George, Westmoreland, and Louisville firefighters responding. In addition the Wamego Police department, Pottawatomie county sheriff’s office, county emergency medical service and county emergency management were at the scene.
The building and contents are considered a total loss, with the value exceeding 150-thousand dollars.
The Wamego Police department is requesting the public’s assistance in solving the crime, with a reward offered for the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 456-9553 or 1-800-ks-crime, or 1-800-572-7463. Callers may remain anonymous.
The State Fire Marshal’s office was in Wamego Tuesday investigating.
There were no injuries.
