The Leonardville man charged with three sexual exploitation of a child charges after being arrested in Arizona, made his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon via web cam.
An affidavit disclosed to KMAN last month referred to 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, however John Thomas only faces three actual charges. The affidavit mentioned websites associated with pornography as well.
Thomas’s Attorney, Larry McRell asked that the case be continued for another status hearing, as he needed time to get discovery on the case and it was Thomas’s first time appearing on the docket. Prosecuting State Attorney, Barry Disney mentioned a majority of the case involves investigation of computers.
Thomas’s case was set for a discovery status hearing on April 28th at 1 p.m.
