– Manhattan High baseball split with Hayden. The Indians lost game one 12-3 but came back to win game two 4-1. It was Hayden’s first loss of the season. Jesse Steinbring struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits in the Indians win.
– Manhattan High softball was swept by Hayden 7-2 and 10-5.
– Manhattan High track and field swept the Salina Central Invitational. The boys won with 108 points to beat second-place Great Bend, and the girls won with 115 points to beat second-place Hutchinson. Brandon Religa won the 400 meters and Michael Melgares won the 1600 meters. The Indian boys 4×100 relay team of Kaden Fraiser, Chris Martin, Mike Settembrino and Tanaivas Richardson won as did the 4×400 relay team of Settembrino, Richardson, Religa and Fraiser. On the girls side, Temetris Johnson won the 200 meters and Kylie James won the discus. The Manhattan girls 4×800 relay team of Taylor Efurd, Katie Ochoa, Megan Ochoa and Christina Martinez also took first place.
– Manhattan High girls soccer took down Hayden 2-0 with goals from Cailey Perkins and Brooke Henry.
– Riley County baseball beat Minneapolis 10-9 and 13-3. The Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to win game one. Dylan Moore had a two-run, walk-off hit and was three-for-four in the game. Tyler Halstead was the winning pitcher after coming into a bases loaded, no-out situation in the fifth. The Falcons are 12-6 overall.
– Wamego baseball swept Abilene 5-3 and 9-0.
