OLATHE, Kan. (AP) A northeast Kansas woman is going to prison for embezzling more than $1 million at a hospital where she worked.
The Johnson County prosecutor’s office says Cheryl McAnally, 52, of Lenexa, was sentenced Wednesday to eight years behind bars. Judge James Franklin also ordered her to pay restitution of more than $1 million.
McAnally worked at Overland Park Regional Medical Center as the administrator of its medical staff dues fund. She was charged in November 2011 on seven counts and pleaded guilty in July of this year to five felonies.
District Attorney Steve Howe says the Secret Service took part in the investigation.
