It’s unusual for Junction City Firefighters to have four fires in two days–but that’s been the case this week, with the Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross providing assistance to eight people impacted by those fires.

Junction City Fire Chief Kevin Royse indicates all available firefighters have been at work on the blazes, which began early Tuesday morning. Fortunately no injuries were reported.

Damage ranged from $150,000 to $1,000. The two storm-related fires earlier in the week were the most substantial, with one amounting to $150,000 damage and the other $40,000–those two fires happened about the same time. The other fires were only about $1,000 apiece, with one involving unattended cooking and another occurring in a mobile home, which is still under investigation.
