A 55-game schedule was released on Monday for the defending Big 12 champion K-State baseball team, who reached the first Super Regional in program history last season. The Cats’ season kicks off on February 14th with a trip to California, and the 28-game home schedule at Tointon Family Stadium starts two weeks later.
The K-State schedule features five teams that reached last season s regional round of the NCAA Tournament, four regular season conference champions and home games against in-state rivals Wichita State and Kansas. Nonconference opponents include Cal Poly, San Francisco, Portland, St. Mary s, UC Davis, UW-Milwaukee, Nebraska, Iowa, Omaha, Northern Colorado, Air Force, Creighton, Wichita State and Bakersfield. The total of 22 opponents combined to go 654-582 (.529) last season. In addition to KU, the Cats will host Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas in Big 12 series.
