Katie Brand dished out 46 assists, and also contributed 8 digs, 6 kills, and 3 blocks. Oklahoma jumped out to a 14-5 in the first set, but from there K-State (13-5, 1-4) played their best stretch of volleyball on the night. The Cats would pull within one of the Sooners twice at 21-20 and 23-22, before OU finished out the win. The second set went K-State’s way thanks to just three hitting errors, and the Cats rode the momentum to a 13-10 lead in the third. The Sooners struck back, closing out the frame on a 15-6 run to take a 2-1 lead. Mistakes again plagued K-State in the final set, as they finished the night with 30 attack errors and a .135 hitting percentage.
Sallie McLaurin and Madison Ward led Oklahoma (15-4, 3-2) with 15 kills apiece.
K-State will return to the floor in a week when they host Texas Tech next Saturday night at 7:00pm back in the friendly confines of Ahearn Fieldhouse. NewsRadio 1350 KMAN will bring the pregame show at 6:30.
