K-State draws Kentucky in NCAA Tournament

The Kansas State Men’s Basketball team will play in the NCAA Tournament for an unprecedented fifth consecutive year and sixth time in the last seven years. The Wildcats will be the number nine seed in the Midwest Regional and will face number eight seed Kentucky on Friday in St. Louis. A victory over Kentucky sets up a potential third round match up with top seed Wichita State.

K-State made its lone NCAA Championship Game appearance against Kentucky in 1951 with UK prevailing 68-58. Also playing in St. Louis will be the Kansas Jayhawks who face Eastern Kentucky on Friday night. However KU is playing in the South Regional so the two teams cannot play each other next weekend.

Tip-off is set for 8:40 p.m. Friday.
