K-State will play Tulane at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on December 28th as part of the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival.
The game will be second of a triple header scheduled for the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival. St. John’s and Columbia will lead off the action and VCU and Boston College will be the final game of the day. K-State will play just the single game against the Green Wave. Television coverage and game times will be announced at a later date.
“This will be a great opportunity to take our East Coast guys home – especially being Shane’s senior year – and play in a world-class arena like the Barclays Center,” said head coach Bruce Weber in a statement. “Tulane is a quality opponent, who is coming off a 20-win season and postseason appearance, so it will be another solid test for our team.”
Tulane finished 20-15 last year and played in the CollegeInsder.com tournament where they recorded their first postseason win since 1996.
K-State has four players on next season’s roster that hail from the New York/New Jersey area. This includes seniors Omari Lawrence (Bronx, N.Y.) and Shane Southwell (Harlem, N.Y.) as well as incoming freshmen Neville Fincher (Teaneck, N.J.) and Jevon Thomas (Queens, N.Y.).
The Barclays Center opened on September 28th, 2012 and is home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. It is also set to become the home of the NHL’s New York Islanders.
