A press conference was held in the Legends Room of Bramlage Coliseum Tuesday afternoon to announce that the Kansas State Women’s Volleyball team will travel to Kazan, Russia to represent and compete for Team USA at the World University Games from July 6-17.
According to a release from K-State Athletics Communications, the World University Games is an international multi-sport celebratin of collegiate athletes organized by the International University Sports Federation. Athletes will stay in special housing that is very similar to an Olympic Village and compete in state-of-the-art venues against Russia, Poland, and the Czech Republic during pool play. K-State was one of a a select few elite college programs contacted to represent Team USA by BTI events.
Opening Ceremonies for the World University Games will be held on July 6.
