Kindred Wesemann scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as Kansas State reeled off 54 first half points in a 102-53 rout of Florida Atlantic on Sunday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum.
K-State jumped out to a 28-11 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as the Owls who came into the game with a 5-1 record never really threatened.
Wesemann was joined in the double figures category by Breanna Lewis and Antoinette Taylor who each tallied 14 points and by Megan Deines who had 11.
For the game the Wildcats shot 54 percent from the field and knocked down 14 three-point baskets. The final of those treys was made by Kelly Thomson with seven seconds left in the contest to put the Cats over the century mark for the first time in more than a decade.
K-State’s last 100-point game before Sunday was on November 26, 2005 at Santa Clara and the last time the Cats hit triple-digits in Bramlage Coliseum was on January 5, 2003 against Iowa.
Kansas State (8-1) will next be in action on Saturday when they host Sam Houston State on the Bramlage hardwood. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
