Special teams definitely played a huge factor in K-State’s closer than expected 35-21 victory over North Texas. After North Texas took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, Wildcat sophomore Tyler Lockett took the ensuing kickoff 96 yards to the house. Lockett was named Big 12 special teams player of the week on Monday. The touchdown was the third on a kickoff return in his career, and helped propell K-State to the win. Lockett also received the Big 12 honor after returning kickoffs for scores last season against Texas Tech and Kansas.
