TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Members of the Kansas Air National Guard’s 190th Refueling Wing will conduct a mass casualty exercise to test the unit’s capabilities to respond to multiple scenarios.
The event Sunday at Forbes Field south of Topeka will simulate events that could strike the former Air Force base, its personnel or members of the community.
It is one of many exercises the 190th conducts each year focusing on things like potential natural disasters, severe weather emergencies and enemy attack.
While the unit’s primary mission is to fly KC-135 refueling aircraft, it also conducts a state mission to respond to disasters with emergency relief, search-and-rescue and civil defense teams.
