EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) The Kansas Board of Regents is preparing to announce its appointment of a new president for Emporia State University.
The board is having a special meeting Thursday morning in the university’s student union, with a reception for the new president to follow.
Two finalists visited the eastern Kansas campus earlier this month.
One candidate is Allison Garrett. She is executive vice president of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
The other candidate is Petra Roter. She is vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
The new president is expected to take office in January.
Michael Shonrock left the job in April to become president at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. Retired Butler County Community College President Jacqueline Vietti has served as interim president since May.
