Believe it or not, the K-State baseball season will begin in three and a half weeks. Wildcat junior outfielder and reigning Big 12 batting champion Jared King has been named a second team preseason All-American by Perfect Game. King is a three-year starter as he hit .378, with 15 doubles, seven home runs and 47 RBI.
King was one of just two Big 12 players to earn All-America accolades from Perfect Game, joining Texas relief pitcher Corey Knebel. It was the first career preseason All-America designation for King, who was a second Team All-Big 12 and first team all-midwest region selection following the 2012 season.
The Cats will open the season on Friday, February 15th against High Point in Charleston, South Carolina.
