Due to heavy rain, Friday’s game between K-State and Baylor has been suspended in the top of the seventh inning. The opener of the three-game set at Baylor Ballpark will resume on Saturday at 3 p.m., with the second game of the set to start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
Trailing 3-1, the Wildcats had their first two batters of the seventh, Alex Bee and Sam Chadick, reach with back-to-back singles before the weather delay. Clayton Dalrymple was at the plate with Baylor’s starting pitcher Drew Tolson on the mound at the time of the stoppage in play, approximately at 8:25 p.m.
K-State’s starting pitcher Colton Kalmus was lifted from the game in the fifth, throwing 4 1/3 innings and surrendering three runs. Jordan Floyd spelled Kalmus, allowing an inherited runner to score before finishing out the fifth and then facing the minimum in the sixth.
