The Kansas State Women’s Basketball team cut a 24-point deficit down to seven points late in the second half but in the end top-seeded Baylor defeated the eighth-seeded Wildcats 82-70 in the Big 12 Quarterfinals Saturday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Haley Texada after scoring 18 points in Friday night’s win over Kansas led K-State with 25 points but her efforts were not enough to overcome 30 points by Baylor’s Nina Davis, the Big 12 Player of the Year as the Lady Bears advanced into Sunday’s Semifinal against Oklahoma State which defeated Iowa State earlier Saturday.
Kansas State (18-13) saw its two-game winning streak come to an end and will now likely be playing the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. An announcement on that tournament is expected by March 16.
