Former K-State All-American high jumper Erik Kynard finished fifth in the high jump final with a mark of 7 feet, 7.25 inches at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow.
Along with being selected as an All-American in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, he became the first person to win three consecutive Big 12 outdoor high jump titles. He concluded his Wildcat career as an eight-time All-American, six-time Big 12 Champion and two-time NCAA Champion.
Kynard will continue to compete in the IAAF Diamond League where he is currently third among all high jumpers. Kynard’s next competition will take place on Aug. 29 at Weltklasse Zürich in Switzerland.
