High Jumper Erik Kynard added to his long list of accomplishments on Saturday at the Big 12 Track and Field Championships in Waco, Texas by becoming the first high jumper to win three Big 12 titles.
Kynard who repeated as conference champ in his event and who is the two-time defending National Champion, won the title with a jump of 2.30 meters or seven feet, six and a half inches.
While Kynard made history the rest of his teammates have the chance to do so as well. Through two days the Wildcats are in second place in the team standings….K-State has never finished higher than third when they accomplished that feat at the inaugural Big 12 Championships in 1997 also in Waco. The meet will wrap up on Sunday.
