The last person arrested in connection with the kidnapping case, that took place in October of last year in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Place, was sentenced in Riley County Court Monday afternoon.
Rasheem Wilson appeared in court alongside his attorney. Prosecuting State Attorney, Barry Wilkerson stated the victims were present in the courtroom, but did not wish to speak. Wilson also chose not to provide a final statement.
Wilson’s attorney stated he had reached a plea agreement with the state, which outlined 88 months for the primary offense, and the other counts should run concurrent with the primary offense.
Chief Judge, Meryl Wilson did choose to sentence Rasheem Wilson to 88 months, or just over seven years, in prison for the primary felony kidnapping charge. He stated he would receive credit for the 217 days already served. For the additional charges: kidnapping and robbery, Wilson was sentenced to 59 months, or just under five years, with the department of corrections. Both of these sentences will run concurrent with the first.
