A re-scheduled preliminary hearing was held Friday in Riley County District Court for two local residents charged with the first degree murder of John Burroughs (68), also of Manhattan.
Burroughs was found dead in his residence on Farm Bureau Road in the afternoon of September 8th, 2013. Riley County Police arrested Christina Love, 49, and James McKenith, 33 three days later and charged them with first degree murder.
Love and McKenith were originally scheduled to appear on November 22nd in Judge William Malcolm’s court room. However, the hearing was rescheduled and moved to Judge Meryl Wilson’s court room to accommodate both love and McKenith.
After a presentation of evidence, Judge Wilson bound the two over for arraignment on January 27th at 2:30 p.m.
