Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce 88th Annual Meeting and Banquet

A large gathering of area business  leaders converged on the Manhattan Conference Center Friday night.

It was the 88th annual Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce meeting and Banquet.  The banquet marked a time of change, and recognition of outstanding members and volunteers from the past year.

Outgoing Chair of the Chamber Dan Yunk passed the gavel to the new Chair Frank Beer.

Chamber director Lyle Butler says it has been another record breaking year for attendance at the event with over 561 attendees.

Butler says the chair changeover is only one of the events which highlight the evening, and everyone looks forward to finding out who will be the volunteer of the year, and the Lud Fiser Citizen of the Year.

This year’s recognition for the volunteer of the year goes to local CPA James Gordon.  The Lud Fiser Citizen of the year award went to attorney Terry Arthur.  Butler says the event is always a great time for local business owners to come together to network, and show appreciation for the past year’s efforts in the area.
