Manhattan Doctor’s Hearing Delayed

Michael Schuster

The detention hearing scheduled for a Manhattan doctor linked to drug overdoses has been continued.

Michael Schuster’s detention hearing is now set for May seventh with Magistrate Judge K. Gary Sebelius in Topeka Tuesday continuing the hearing to the May seventh date.

The 53 year old doctor was arrested last Tuesday (April 23) on charges of unlawfully prescribing prescription drugs. Schuster had been operating Manhattan Pain and Spine, with an indictment alleging he was out of the office when a total of 542 patients received prescriptions for more than a dozen different types of medications.

Schuster’s medical license has been indefinitely suspended.
