The Manhattan Fire Department will be conducting fire scenarios starting Tuesday through Friday. The training will be held at a single family dwelling located at 531 Bluemont.
This exercise will give fire personnel the ability to train in an actual structure in the community to aid them in being proficient in a variety of disciplines associated with fire fighting functions and responsibilities.
Some of the skills firefighters will practice include- fire attack, search, ventilation , and MAYDAY operations. There will be no live fire training conducted in the structures, but theatrical smoke may be used giving the appearance of real smoke. Citizens can expect fire apparatus to be parked in the area.
