After several months of investigation, a Manhattan man has been arrested in connection with a May fatal accident on K-18.
Miles Theurer, 24, was taken into custody Thursday on charges of DUI, two counts of involuntary manslaughter while DUI, and two counts of aggravated battery, with a total bond of $50,000. His name appears on the Riley County Police arrest report released Friday morning.
The accident involving Theurer occurred in mid-May , with two fatalities involved. According to the Kansas HIghway patrol at the time of the accident, Elizabeth Young, 31, of White City and Michael Stanley, 30, of Ogden were killed when their 2001 LeSabre was struck head on by a 2003 Silverado driven by Theurer. Theurer was reported to be driving the wrong way eastbound on K-18.
