Manhattan sales tax receipt numbers are in for August, with $904,472 reportedly collected. That’s up from last August’s $894,136 and $14,594 more than had been budgeted. The year to date dollar figure is approximately $7,211,967.
Manhattan Finance Director Bernie Hayen indicates there’s not much to report regarding any specific sector, other than a slight increase in total retail sales which he adds is always good. Hayen indicates the percentage increase-to-date is likely the city’s growth for the remainder of this year and probably the next report will be modest. But the finance director says at least growth continues.
