Sales tax reports for Manhattan in September are good, according to City Finance Director Bernie Hayen. Hayen indicates nearly every retail segment was up compared to a year ago.
$827,037 were collected in the September numbers, which actually reflect July retail sales. That’s up $90,702 from 2012 numbers. The adjusted rate was $781,058 . That amount is well over the $677,560 budgeted for that time frame.
