Rodney McGruder will put on a K-State uniform one last time as he’ll take part in a pair of events this weekend in Atlanta at the Final Four. First up on Thursday, McGruder will be one of eight male competitors in the State Farm College 3-point Championship at Georgia Tech. McGruder will be joined by Iowa State’s Tyrus McGee in the competition. The men’s winner then takes on his female counterpart in the Battle of the Champions. The event, which also features a dunk contest, will be shown live on ESPN at 6:00pm.
On Friday following the Final Four team practices at the Georgia Dome, McGruder will play in the Reese’s College All-Star Game at 4:00pm. He’ll play on the East squad coached by Tennessee’s Cuonzo Martin. Two Big 12 players will play for the West, Iowa State’s Will Clyburn and Baylor’s Pierre Jackson. The Cyclones’ Fred Hoiberg will coach the West.
