ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner is bothered by turf toe, and the Wolverines want to get him some rest.
Coach Brady Hoke says Gardner didn’t practice Tuesday. Gardner has plenty of time to recover before Michigan plays K-State on Dec. 28 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
Gardner limped to a news conference with a protective boot on his left foot following Michigan’s one-point loss to Ohio State in the regular-season finale Nov. 30.
Hoke says he’s not going to speculate about how long Gardner will sit out. Bowl practices are now a chance for backup quarterback Shane Morris to get more reps.
